How You Will Benefit

After successfully completing E-Leading: Maximizing the Power of Virtual Teams, participants will be able to:

    1. Identify the key leadership differences between co-located and virtual teams.

    2. Determine the impacts of time, distance and culture on their teams and develop strategies to use these factors to optimize team performance.

    3. Apply leadership and management techniques that build trust and collaboration among team members.

    4. Create a team charter and communications plan specific to their virtual teams.

    5. Access resources to enhance their understanding of team member cultural and individual preferences that influence how they communicate, collaborate, and make decisions.

    6. Create methods to track and measure individual and team performance.
 

Session Length Options

This course may be delivered as either a face-to-face, instructor-led session or as an instructor-led, virtual e-learning workshop. It can also be customized to include both delivery options for maximum learning. Participants in the blended e-learning web-course invest approximately four hours per week in course-related activities—webconferences, readings, online dialogue, and case studies.


Advanced Preparation

To enhance the level of learning-to-performance, participants are asked to complete basic preparatory work in advance of the session. This includes completing a self-assessment, and reading a research-based article on coaching in the workplace.
